2027 Leadership Opportunities
NCCBOR is currently accepting nominations for the following Board of Directors positions.
Treasurer
1-Year Term | 1 Open seat
Provide financial oversight and support the responsible stewardship of NCCBOR resources while helping guide the association’s long-term financial planning. The Treasurer also serves as Chair of the Finance & Budget Committee.
Vice President
4-Year Term | 1 open seat
Serve in a key leadership role focused on supporting the strategic direction and future growth of the association. This position automatically progresses to President-Elect in 2028, President in 2029, and Immediate Past President in 2030.
Director
3-Year Term | 3 open seats
Represent the membership by contributing to Board discussions, supporting association initiatives, and helping shape the future direction of NCCBOR through collaborative leadership and decision-making.

When does the nomination form close?
The form closes at 5:00pm on Sunday, May 31st. All nominations must be submitted by then.
Can I nominate multiple people?
Yes! You may nominate multiple people, or yourself and someone else as well. We ask that you complete one form per person.
How much time is typically involved with Board service?
Time commitments can vary depending on position and organizational initiatives throughout the year. Attendance is expected at approximately 6 Board meetings per year. These meetings typically last 1 to 2 hours.

What does the Vice President leadership progression look like?
If selected for the Vice President position, you will be sworn in as VP in 2027. The person in this role then automatically moves to the President-Elect position in 2028, eventually becoming President of the Board in 2029.
Following the presidency, this person will move into the role of Immediate Past President in 2030, and their term would end in 2031.
When does voting take place?
The Nominating Committee will review and select a slate of nominees in early June. The Board of Directors will then review the slate. If approved, those selected will be notified, and an announcement will be made to all members.
Are Board meetings held in-person or virtually?
This can vary from year to year. The first meeting of the year is typically held in person, with all following meetings taking place via Zoom.
However, this can change depending on meeting initiatives. Ample notice will be given ahead of each meeting.
Is there a financial commitment associated with serving on the Board?
While there is no fee to become a member of the Board, Board members may be responsible for the cost of attending certain events or activities, unless otherwise approved by the association.
If I nominate someone else, will they need to accept the nomination?
Yes - NCCBOR staff will reach out to members who were nominated for a position by someone else, and confirm if they'd like to accept the nomination. Staff will also ask for any missing information that may be needed from the nominee.
Do I need previous comittee or leadership experience to run?
Director & Treasurer Positions - No! We simple ask that those applying have been a Primary member of NCCBOR for at least 2 years.
Vice President Position - Yes, those running for Vice President will need to have served on the Board in some capacity, or have been a comittee Chair, for at least 2 years, in addition to being a Primary member of NCCBOR for at least 5 years.
