Taco ’Bout a Great Time: Pickleball, Competition, & Community
NCCBOR members and industry partners traded their business attire for paddles and sneakers during our recent Taco ’Bout RPAC Pickleball Tournament & Fundraiser at Dill Dinkers.
The afternoon brought together friendly competition, great food, plenty of laughs, and an important opportunity to support RPAC. With players ranging from experienced pickleball fans to those still learning the difference between the kitchen and the court, the event was welcoming, energetic, and entertaining from the very first match.
Participants competed in round-robin play, giving everyone multiple opportunities to take the court, meet new opponents, and show off their skills. The format kept the games moving and allowed players to compete against a variety of teams throughout the afternoon. Some arrived with a serious game plan, while others were simply ready to have fun and see what happened. Either way, the competitive spirit showed up quickly.
Between matches, attendees had time to relax, grab something to eat, cheer on their colleagues, and connect with fellow members. El Diablo provided food for the event, giving everyone a much-needed chance to refuel before heading back onto the court. With food, drinks, music, and plenty of activity happening around the facility, the tournament felt just as much like a social event as it did a competition.
The atmosphere remained lively throughout the afternoon. Players encouraged one another, celebrated great shots, laughed through missed serves, and embraced the occasional chaotic rally. Even those who did not leave with a trophy had plenty of reasons to consider the day a win.
More importantly, the tournament gave members a fun and engaging way to support RPAC. RPAC plays an important role in protecting the real estate industry, supporting REALTOR® priorities, and helping ensure that the voices of real estate professionals are represented in public policy discussions. Events like this make it possible to support that work while also building stronger relationships within our membership.
We are especially grateful to our event sponsors, JH Contracting/Home Stretch, Wolfe & Associates, and Pike Creek Mortgage, whose support helped make the afternoon possible. Their involvement allowed us to create an event that was both enjoyable for attendees and meaningful for RPAC.
We would also like to thank everyone who played, attended, volunteered, sponsored, helped with setup, or contributed behind the scenes. An event like this takes a team effort, and we are grateful to everyone who helped bring it together.
Congratulations to our first-, second-, and third-place winners, who earned their spots through plenty of skill, strategy, teamwork, and determination. The matches were competitive, the rallies were impressive, and the final standings were well earned.
Whether attendees left with a trophy, a new business connection, a renewed appreciation for pickleball, or simply a few sore muscles, we hope everyone enjoyed the experience.
The Taco ’Bout RPAC Pickleball Tournament was a great reminder that supporting the industry does not always have to happen in a meeting room. Sometimes it looks like paddles, tacos, friendly competition, and a room full of members cheering one another on.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us. We had a fantastic time and cannot wait to see who returns to defend their title at the next tournament.
