REALTOR® Member Requirements

Becoming and maintaining REALTOR® membership with the New Castle County Board of REALTORS® (NCCBOR) includes a few important requirements designed to uphold the professionalism and ethical standards of the real estate industry.

Below are key steps and resources to help guide you through your membership responsibilities.

REALTOR® Pledge

As part of joining the REALTOR® organization, members commit to upholding the values and standards of the profession.

All new members are asked to review and acknowledge the REALTOR® Pledge, which reflects the commitment to professionalism, integrity, and service to clients and the community.

Code of Ethics Requirement

The National Association of REALTORS® requires all members to complete Code of Ethics training once every three-year cycle.

This course reinforces the ethical standards that distinguish REALTORS® from other real estate licensees and ensures members remain informed about their professional responsibilities.

Fair Housing Training Requirement

REALTOR® members are also required to complete Fair Housing / Anti-Bias training during each three-year cycle as established by the National Association of REALTORS®.

This training helps ensure members understand fair housing laws, recognize implicit bias, and provide equitable service to all clients and communities.

New Member Orientation

All new NCCBOR members are encouraged to attend New Member Orientation, where you’ll learn more about:

  • The REALTOR® organization and the value of membership

  • Professional standards and resources available to you

  • Tools and services provided by NCCBOR

  • Opportunities to get involved with committees, events, and leadership

  • Our affiliate members and partnerships
  • And more!

These sessions also provide a great opportunity to meet fellow REALTORS® and connect with affiliate professionals who support the real estate industry.

New Member Orientation is held periodically throughout the year. Members will receive invitations and registration information when sessions are scheduled.
